MP3 Tag: Frequently asked questions

Do I lose audio quality when I edit tags?

No. The audio is not re-encoded. Only the tag info in the file changes.

Which formats can I upload?

MP3, WAV and FLAC. Other formats are rejected with the message "Unsupported format".

Why can't I enter an ISRC or a cover for my WAV file?

WAV only supports basic tags. Use MP3 or FLAC for all fields (see "MP3 Tag: Which formats and fields are supported?").

My file is too large.

There is a maximum size per file, which is shown in the upload field. Check whether you can use a smaller file in FLAC or MP3 format instead of WAV.

The message says my storage is full.

Delete files you no longer need, or ask Support for more storage.

I changed something, but it isn't being applied.

Check whether you clicked Save or Save all changes. Entered values only take effect after saving.

My file can't be selected in the Release Wizard.

The Wizard only shows free files that match the track. Files that are already used in a release are no longer available there.

Can I keep editing a file in MP3 Tag after it has been added to a release?

No. The file is then part of the release. It is shown in MP3 Tag under "Used in releases", but it can no longer be edited there.

Where can't I find MP3 Tag?

The menu item only appears for accounts with an active contract. If you have questions, ask Support.
